Techno DESIGN has developed a research project to verify the possibility of building an aerogenerator equipped with a double aerodynamic rotor keyed on the same shaft . The project also aims to determine the variation in the performance of this wind turbine, in particular the productivity compared to a classic single rotor wind turbine . In addition to obtaining an increase in performance, the presence of the second rotor would bring further advantages, such as, for example, the containment of the radial dimensions for the same installed power and would also allow the application of the double rotor solution as a retrofit option on single machines. rotor , significantly limiting investments, in the face of an increase in installed power.

The design of the wind turbine is characterized by its original and aesthetically appealing shape, as well as aerodynamically efficient. The machine was designed and sized by creating a virtual prototype through 3D CAD modeling .
The virtual prototype was subjected to immersive VR techniques to evaluate its aesthetic appeal and visual impact, before creating the physical prototype.
The CAD model of the wind turbine was used as the basis of the virtual FEM tests performed with Abaqus / Standard in order to evaluate its mechanical resistance , before creating the physical prototype.
Once the design and virtual tests have been completed, the machine is being built, in order to subject it to the necessary tests in the field for evaluating productivity.
